BUILD. PLAY. REPEAT. MAKE SOMETHING PLAYABLE.

LESS TALK.
MORE PLAY.

SMALL SCOPE.
BIG ENERGY.

You know how to code.
Now make someone feel something.

A game jam is a creative sprint: a shared theme, a small team, and a playable game at the finish line. CHECKPOINT brings Reboot students together to turn an idea into an experience.

01

Build something that runs.

Connect code, visuals, and sound. Ship a real prototype.

02

Get unstuck, faster.

Workshops and mentors turn a roadblock into a next step.

03

Leave with a story to show.

A playable project, new collaborators, and proof of what you can make.

GOOD
QUESTIONS.

01What actually is a game jam?

A shared theme, a short deadline, and a game people can play. You turn an idea into a working prototype, then improve it by watching someone try it.

02Who is CHECKPOINT for?

Reboot students. Bring your programming, design, art, audio, or problem-solving skills. You do not need to arrive with a finished game idea.

03How many people are in a team?

Go solo or register a team of two or three. One registration per team.

04Which engine do we have to use?

It’s open stack. Use any engine, framework, or language your team can build with. A small game that runs is the goal.

05When do we find out the theme?

The theme drops at 6:00 PM on 19 October. A modifier arrives at 6:00 PM on 20 October. Check the drop zone here when it’s time.

06Can we use existing assets or AI tools?

Credit the work and assets you reuse. Ask the organizers for the event policy on pre-made code, assets, and AI tools before relying on them.

07How do we submit?

Choose your team in the team workspace, add your playable game link, and submit. Include controls and credits on your game page. The organizers will confirm the submission cutoff and demo format.

08What happens to the winning game?

Reboot will sponsor its release on Steam or another platform, with incubation in the Reboot game lab if further development support is needed. The release plan is agreed with the winning team.
